We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Scientist to join our team at Jefferson County, Colorado. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting forensic analysis, providing expert testimony, and collaborating with law enforcement agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and accurate forensic analysis of evidence, including DNA analysis, fingerprint comparison, and other specialized techniques.
- Prepare and present expert testimony in court, providing clear and concise explanations of complex scientific concepts.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies to provide technical assistance and support in the investigation and prosecution of crimes.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the handling and analysis of evidence.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new technologies and techniques for forensic analysis.
- Provide training and guidance to less experienced staff members on forensic analysis and evidence handling.
- Stay current with advances in forensic science and technology, attending conferences and workshops as needed.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Forensic Science or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in forensic analysis and expert testimony.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Forensic Science or a related field.
- Experience with DNA analysis and other specialized forensic techniques.
- Certification as a Forensic Scientist or a related field.
