Job Summary

Thornton Tomasetti is seeking a highly skilled Senior Forensic Structural Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Forensic Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for executing structural investigations of existing buildings and designing remedial repairs for deficient conditions. You will also assist with damage assessment and cause and origin investigations, perform required calculations and design, and prepare field notes, feasibility studies, cost analyses, and specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with damage assessment and cause and origin investigations.
  • Experience in building envelope assessments (moisture infiltration, façade, roofing).
  • Perform required calculations and design.
  • Prepare field notes, feasibility studies, cost analyses, and specifications.
  • Work with a multi-discipline team of design professionals.
  • Complete technical and investigative reports to support forensic findings and prepare materials related to presentations.
  • Interface with clients and attend meetings.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals.
  • Market engineering services and develop business for mechanical engineering.
  • Assist with the growth and development of the mechanical engineering practice.
Requirements
  • Degree (Ph.D. preferred) in structural engineering or a related field.
  • EIT's License is preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the US and internationally.
Compensation

The rate for this position generally is $79,000 - $90,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the California Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful California applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in California or perform the position from California. Similar positions located outside of California will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by California Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law.
