Welcome to LeidosAre you prepared to take on a new professional journey? The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is actively looking for a Field Service Engineer to join our team supporting critical programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in a performance-driven environment where outcomes are measured against established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Acceptable Quality Levels (AQLs).
- Conduct comprehensive site assessments at client locations to evaluate readiness, create material lists, and formulate implementation strategies.
- Address complex challenges related to troubleshooting, fault detection, and maintenance of network systems.
- Install and maintain equipment from major vendors, including but not limited to Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, and Infinera.
- Diagnose system issues and perform hardware and circuit tests to identify problems. Prepare and maintain documentation for systems, including inventories and diagrams.
- Execute preventive maintenance according to manufacturer guidelines. Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with users, support staff, and network managers for installation and operational planning.
- Carry out installation, de-installation, upgrades, and interface actions for network components at client sites. Provide guidance and training to junior staff.
- Assist senior personnel as needed to ensure project goals and customer requirements are achieved.
Essential Qualifications
- High School Diploma with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Proficient with network testing tools (BERT, OTDR, power meters, fiber microscopes) and capable of testing up to 100G.
- Experience in constructing Ethernet and fiber optic cables.
- Familiarity with cryptographic equipment.
- Knowledge of timing and synchronization technologies.
- Experience with DC power systems.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, dynamic, and fast-paced setting. Willingness to travel frequently.
- Proven experience in supporting teams to address complex problems requiring a deep understanding of program objectives and resources.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications, including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Compensation Information
The pay range for this position is $48,000 to $86,950. This range serves as a general guideline and does not guarantee specific compensation. Factors influencing the offer may include job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and internal equity.
