Job Summary

This role is part of the Office of Inspector General's (OIG) team approach, serving as a team member on performance and financial-related audits, attestations, inspections, and evaluations of programs and activities of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System (Board) and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

Key Responsibilities

Participate in review teams to plan and conduct audits, gathering and analyzing data to develop findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Assist in the preparation of written and oral reports to convey review results to applicable officials. Develop and organize workpapers to document review work and evidence collected. Conduct reviews in accordance with generally accepted government auditing standards (GAGAS) and the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency's (CIGIE's) Quality Standards for Inspection and Evaluation.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, finance, economics, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience. At least one year of audit, financial accounting, or related experience. Knowledge of principles, theories, practices, and techniques of accounting, management, and auditing/inspecting/evaluating. Proficiency in oral and written communication skills. Ability to work well in a team environment and obtain a Secret clearance. Prefer certification in one or more of the following: Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Fraud Examiner, and/or Certified Information Systems Auditor.

What We Offer

The OIG's telework policy requires employees to be physically present in the office a minimum of 4 days per month. Employees may be expected to be physically present in the office more than 4 days per month, as required by business needs. Supports the Management & Operations section, overseeing the operational components of the Board and the CFPB. Entry-level to intermediate-level auditor candidates encouraged.
