Position Summary:

The Due Diligence Agent plays a crucial role in executing timely investigations for consumer clients to fulfill the Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements. This position involves extensive research and analytical tasks, utilizing data from external businesses, consumer inputs, and internal resources to implement due diligence protocols on a diverse range of customers and partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on current, prospective, and potential consumer clients, applying risk mitigation strategies and responding to specific triggers.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively, identifying customer records that necessitate additional scrutiny and taking appropriate actions to gather and follow up on required information and documentation.
  • Verify that information and documentation provided by clients, as well as data from external sources and personal investigations, meet verification standards.
  • Utilize online resources and third-party vendors to gather insights on potential and existing clients.
  • Engage with clients as necessary to address escalated or complex cases, demonstrating strong empathy and clear communication regarding decisions and policies.
  • Offer guidance and respond to daily inquiries from colleagues and management concerning due diligence issues and case evaluations.
  • Maintain a foundational understanding of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter Financing of Terrorism (CFT) regulations and their implications for the business, alongside Wise's products and services.
  • Draft Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) narratives when necessary to document unusual activities.
  • Evaluate the risk levels of referred profiles, determining whether they meet the expected criteria for escalation.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of various business models, customer categories, country-specific risks, and regulatory frameworks across different regions.
  • Assist Wise in internal and external audits, as well as regulatory inquiries related to due diligence processes.
  • Report any suspicions or concerns to the AML and Fraud teams for further investigation.
Qualifications:
  • Must possess legal authorization to work in the US; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This is a full-time hybrid role.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
  • Able to work independently within a framework of defined procedures and practices.
  • Capable of managing complex tasks with moderate variability and addressing less straightforward inquiries by coordinating with multiple information sources.
  • Skilled in identifying policy and process gaps, providing constructive feedback through established communication channels.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to meet strict deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Punctual, proactive, and committed to achieving results.
  • Able to thrive in a diverse workplace that values collaboration, partnership, and transparency.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
