Position Overview

As an Educational Facilities Construction Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing a diverse array of projects within the educational sector. Your expertise will be essential in managing the construction process, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards, and fostering effective communication among all stakeholders involved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of project documentation, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring all activities align with the critical path.
  • Collaborate with preconstruction teams to discuss methodologies, project timelines, and site conditions.
  • Delegate tasks to project team members and monitor their progress throughout all project phases.
  • Implement and uphold a robust Safety Program, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Establish and enforce a Quality Assurance Program that meets contractual specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct inspections of ongoing work to verify compliance with project specifications and quality benchmarks.
  • Manage stormwater prevention and dust control measures in accordance with environmental regulations.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and inspectors to facilitate project success.
  • Prepare and disseminate daily project reports detailing workforce, progress, challenges, and directives.
  • Utilize Critical Path Method and Lean Process Scheduling to develop and maintain an accurate project schedule.
  • Formulate recovery strategies to address any potential delays impacting the project timeline.
  • Oversee the project expediting log, ensuring weekly updates from staff.
  • Ensure Project Engineers are equipped to update procurement activities in line with the project schedule.
  • Maintain an up-to-date set of project drawings on-site, ensuring all team members have access to the latest information.
  • Innovate and implement methods to enhance quality, safety, and productivity throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Effectively manage subcontractors to ensure timely and successful project completion.
  • Facilitate pre-planning activities to ensure coordinated efforts among all parties involved.
  • Conduct regular safety and coordination meetings with trade partners.
  • Establish processes for managing completion lists to minimize corrective actions at project closeout.
  • Assist in the closeout process in accordance with established procedures.
Candidate Profile
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within construction.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • OSHA 30 certification or the ability to obtain it within the first year of employment.
  • Experience in educational construction projects is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in scheduling and project management software, including MS Office and Procore.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative team player with the ability to influence and drive project timelines.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction processes and skilled trades.
