Civil Construction Project Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare project financial documents and coding sheets for the finance team. Conduct a comprehensive review of the financial reports post data entry to ensure precision in cost records.
  • Implement a weekly expense monitoring system utilizing cost estimation sheets, delivering bi-weekly financial updates to management. Include current expenditures and anticipated profits for each project.
  • Work closely with the project accountant to prepare monthly payment requests, establishing draw dates, review timelines, and submission deadlines. Clearly outline expectations regarding subcontractor punctuality and accuracy during weekly meetings.
  • Distribute construction drawing sets to contracted subcontractors and provide timely updates or change notifications. Record change notifications in the system, tracking any resulting cost or schedule modifications.
  • Oversee as-built drawings at the construction site, maintaining a log of changes approved by the project manager and subcontractors.
  • Maintain a historical set of drawings both on-site and in the office.
  • Establish and manage project management software, including Change Order Logs, Submittal Logs, and RFI logs in weekly reports to all stakeholders.
  • Develop and revise the project schedule for inclusion in contracts and weekly meeting records, ensuring accuracy and reflecting actual timelines.
  • Coordinate timely processing of submissions, ensuring all relevant subcontractors receive necessary documents.
  • Review and update submission and RFI logs, hold team members accountable for progress, and maintain a list of Action Items for unresolved issues.
  • Coordinate and monitor RFIs with the client and architect, issue change orders, and oversee daily project progress and labor with the project manager.
  • Collaborate with the project manager to create a pre-completion checklist and coordinate subcontractors for final tasks.
  • At substantial completion, prepare a final checklist with the client.
  • Compile a project closeout package and operation & maintenance manuals.
  • Secure the Final Certificate of Occupancy and address all necessary inspections.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in construction project supervision, preferably with civil and structural expertise.
  • A four (4) year degree in construction management or civil engineering is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Familiarity with estimating, scheduling, and quantity take-off software.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are crucial.
