Engineering Technician II

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Technician II to join our team at Triad Engineering, Inc. in Winchester, VA.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will possess certifications in Concrete, Soil, and Foundation Testing, as well as experience in utility line work. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of applicable plans and specifications, and be able to perform routine quality control test procedures.
Responsibilities:- Perform routine quality control test procedures, including concrete and nuclear moisture/density testing
- Complete and submit daily reports and Job Hazard Analysis forms
- Follow all corporate and job site safety procedures
- Familiar with applicable plans and specifications
- Frequent exposure to clients
- May occasionally make limited recommendations in the field after consultation with PM and/or Engineer
- May have limited responsibility for assisting, directing, and/or training entry-level technicians
- Maintain a driving record free of specific violations
- May perform field work within other company disciplines
- May schedule client meetings and/or additional services
- May occasionally attend job site-related meetings
- May occasionally perform routine testing in the lab
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-4 years of formal industry experience required
- Construction-related training or technical training desirable
- Certifications in Concrete, Soils, and Foundation Testing required
- WVDOT and WVTRET certifications required
- Must possess a valid driver's license and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
- Must possess the ability to read, write, and perform basic math
- Must be comfortable communicating with the public
- Must be comfortable with regular use of email, internet, and basic Microsoft Office applications
- Must be available to work in all types of indoor and outdoor environments
This position may require long-term standing and repetitive motions. Must have the ability to use your hands to handle, finger, or feel; reach, climb, or balance; crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel, and sit. Must have the ability to see and smell; including close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth vision, and ability to focus. The employee will regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds; occasionally move 80 pounds or more (such as a loaded wheelbarrow of concrete or soil samples).
