Job Summary

The Specimen Processing Specialist is responsible for providing general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department. This role requires a strong data entry background and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform A-station, Presort, and imaging/microfilming tasks with accuracy and efficiency
  • Process and deliver specimens to the laboratory in a timely manner
  • Centrifuge and aliquot specimens as needed
  • Work effectively in a biohazard environment, adhering to safety protocols and procedures
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Basic understanding of computers and laboratory testing preferred
  • No experience required, but previous laboratory experience and medical background preferred
Work Environment

The Specimen Processing Department is a production environment with a focus on productivity and quality standards. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing demands, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

This role requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods, communicate effectively with all levels of staff, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be able to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
