Phlebotomist PRN Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist PRN to join our team at Medical City Las Colinas. As a Phlebotomist PRN, you will be responsible for performing phlebotomy procedures to obtain specimens for laboratory testing. You will also transport, process, and perform clerical duties as necessary for testing on patient samples.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients and instruct them in proper specimen collection methods.
  • Draw blood specimens from patients by using finger sticks, heel sticks, or venipunctures and collect other specimens as required.
  • Label specimens for identification purposes accurately and enter specimen data into the computer.
  • Prepare samples for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, and urinalysis departments.
  • Assist with clerical duties by answering telephone calls.
Requirements:
  • HR diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience required or Certification through a clinical phlebotomy program may be considered in lieu of experience.
  • Acute care hospital experience is strongly preferred.
  • Skilled phlebotomy technique; BLS within 30 days of hire.
