Off the ice, the facility features various spaces for hosting parties, events, or corporate gatherings, ensuring a lively and energetic environment.

What You'll Do:


We are in search of a driven and seasoned Vice President of Revenue Growth to lead revenue generation, business development, and program operations at Fifth Third Arena, the practice venue for the Chicago Blackhawks.

This role entails overseeing all commercial aspects of the business, focusing on revenue enhancement through strategic business development, event planning, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.

Your mission will be to propel the business's success while optimizing cost-effective strategic initiatives, ensuring operational excellence, and cultivating a positive and engaging atmosphere for both customers and staff.

The ideal candidate will strategize, lead, and implement initiatives aimed at revenue enhancement and transformative business growth. This individual must possess a problem-solving mindset and the ability to communicate, collaborate, and lead effectively.

A passion for the sports and entertainment sector, coupled with a focus on revenue growth, financial success, and exceptional customer service, is essential.


How You'll Contribute:

Strategic Revenue Planning:
Formulate and execute strategic plans to meet the organization's goals and stimulate revenue growth. Identify avenues for expansion, revenue diversification, and operational enhancements.

Program Execution and Management:

Design and implement a variety of programs, including public skating sessions, learn-to-skate initiatives, and other community offerings.


Event Planning and Management:

Create, negotiate, and oversee a diverse array of revenue-generating events, such as youth sports competitions, tournaments, corporate gatherings, and private functions. Collaborate with event organizers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure flawless execution and outstanding customer experiences.

Customer Satisfaction:

Guarantee exceptional customer service by establishing and monitoring service standards, addressing customer feedback, and continuously enhancing the customer experience. Develop and manage guest services processes to maximize customer satisfaction and revenue generation. Coordinate with contracted ice clients to schedule ice times, games, practices, and off-ice events, ensuring effective communication of unique facility events to operations, security, and maintenance teams.

Financial Management:
Develop and oversee budgets, financial forecasts, and reporting for the business. Monitor revenue streams, expenses, and profitability, identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing strategies to optimize financial performance. Ensure timely processing of all accounts receivable and payable, maintaining prompt bill payment for external vendors and timely revenue collection.

Staff Management:
Inspire, motivate, and develop a diverse team of employees, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management. Foster a positive work culture that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and high-quality customer service.

Negotiations and Contracting:
Ensure all guest agreements and contracts are accurate and current.

Collaborate with the Blackhawks Legal department to create, edit, negotiate, and execute contracts for all Fifth Third Arena clients and vendors.

Obtain necessary certificates of insurance and other required documentation.

Compliance and Safety:
Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards.

Implement and enforce policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment for customers and employees, including assisting with insurance program procurement, risk mitigation, and reporting, as well as implementing safety best practices.


What You Bring to the Table:

Proven experience (10+ years) in managing business development and operational execution to achieve profitable revenue targets in a similar role, preferably within the sports, entertainment, or hospitality sectors.

Excellent financial acumen and experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and P&L management.

Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic business development plans to meet revenue objectives.

Strong leadership and team management skills, with the capacity to inspire, motivate, and hold accountable a diverse workforce.

Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building relationships with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Knowledge of ice rink operations, event planning, and facility management is highly desirable.


Flexibility:
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, particularly during peak seasons and events.
Proficiency in utilizing relevant software and technology for financial management, event planning, and reporting.
Ability to address, adapt to, and overcome challenges in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Demonstrated aptitude for driving results and collaborating cross-functionally.
