About the Role

We are seeking a results-driven and collaborative Clinical Laboratory Coordinator to join our team at Westchester Medical Center. As a key member of our laboratory staff, you will be responsible for coordinating laboratory activities and ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a laboratory setting, with good knowledge of standard laboratory procedures and techniques. You will also possess strong leadership skills and be able to effectively communicate with colleagues and supervisors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinates laboratory activities to ensure efficient and effective task completion.
  • Develops and implements procedures to improve laboratory productivity and quality.
  • Monitors laboratory supplies and equipment to ensure adequate inventory levels.
  • Provides training and guidance to new employees.

You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and reports, troubleshooting laboratory equipment, and providing input on laboratory policies and procedures. Additionally, you will coordinate laboratory quality control and quality assurance activities, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements
  • High school or equivalency diploma required.
  • Satisfactory completion of 60 credits* at a recognized college or university which included course work in biology, chemistry, nursing or other laboratory science; or one year of laboratory experience in an approved hospital, medical or public health laboratory.
  • Good knowledge of standard laboratory procedures and techniques.
  • Ability to understand and follow technical instructions, including scientific and mathematical concepts of measuring and weighing.

We offer a competitive salary of $55,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, and a retirement plan.
