We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Service Coordinator to join our team at WMC Health.

About the Role

This is a critical role that requires exceptional customer service, communication, and organizational skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet arriving patients, verify appointment information, and notify nursing staff as per policies and procedures.
  • Register new patients and assist them in completing necessary forms.
  • Verify and update current patient information (demographic, financial, clinical) in the EMR system.
  • Scan completed forms, identification, and insurance cards into patient documents folder.
  • Schedule future appointments based on procedure type, time requirements, and provider schedules.
  • Receive, screen, and route calls to the appropriate destination if necessary. Utilize triage system for all patient-related calls, in accordance with triage procedures.
  • Perform the functions of a Surgical Scheduler as needed and requested by management.
  • Initiate, issue, and verify patient referrals. Initiate and receive insurance authorization/pre-certifications as necessary.
  • Accept payments, issue receipts, and reconcile cash drawer daily.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two (2) years of customer service and/or medical office experience required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates preferred, but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).

The estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
