The Carlyle House Assisted Living Community seeks a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef/Dietary Director to oversee the food service and dining operations for our residents. This is a critical role that requires a strong leader who can ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Staff Management: Coordinate, supervise, and develop work schedules for all shifts, directing the activities of personnel.
- Scheduling and Evaluation: Create a bi-weekly work schedule, complete yearly evaluations with full-time food service staff, and conduct 90-day evaluations with new employees.
- Menu Planning and Quality Control: Review menus, recommend improvements, and maintain a daily cleaning list for the cooks.
- Training and Competency: Ensure training and competency of employees meet state and federal standards, including mandated in-services.
- Food Safety and Quality: Monitor kitchen and dining areas to ensure proper service, maintain accurate production and spread sheets, and coordinate menu changes with cooks, staff, and management.
Requirements
- Leadership and Management: Proven experience in managing food service operations, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, residents, and other stakeholders.
- Food Safety and Quality: Strong knowledge of food safety principles, including HACCP and Serve Safe guidelines.
- Organizational and Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
