Job Summary

The Certified Nurse Midwife is a key member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing safe and personalized care to patients in various settings. This role requires a strong commitment to patient-centered care, effective communication, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Midwifery Care: Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to women from adolescence to senior adult years, addressing their physical, emotional, and educational needs.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: Work closely with nurses, certified nurse practitioners, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to assess and meet the healthcare needs of patients.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement Initiatives: Contribute to the development of guidelines for midwifery services, implement policies and procedures, and participate in quality assurance programs.
  • Provide Education and Support: Engage in patient education at every visit, provide routine GYN care, and offer support to patients with complex needs.
  • Maintain Clinical Competence: Demonstrate and maintain clinical competence, identify learning needs, and design a plan to meet them.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate from an Accreditation Commission for Midwifery and Education (ACME) accredited program.
  • Certification: Successful completion of the certifying examination by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) and enrollment in the Certification Maintenance Program.
  • Licensure: Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM).
  • Experience: One year of experience as a Nurse Midwife preferred.
  • Skills: Skilled interpersonal communication, teamwork, research, and organization required.
