We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Midwife to join our team at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Midwife - Maternity Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to women and their families in our community and hospital settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert midwifery care to women in our community and hospital settings, including antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care and support for women and their families.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized care plans, taking into account the unique needs and preferences of each woman.
  • Participate in on-call systems and provide emergency care as needed.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with women, their families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
Requirements
  • Registered Midwife with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • At least 2 years of recent experience in intrapartum care, with a strong focus on community and hospital settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with women, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to assess, develop, and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the unique needs and preferences of each woman.
  • Strong understanding of midwifery practice, including antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, as well as breastfeeding support and perineal suturing.
