Job Summary

Premier Health is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of patients through our healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide financial counseling and education to patients and their families, ensuring they understand their financial obligations and options.
  • Collect co-pays and deductibles, and/or provide financial assistance education to patients and their families.
  • Register patients, schedule appointments, and complete registration by collecting and entering all pertinent financial and demographic information into the ADT system.
  • Verify insurance benefit information, generate the ABN, review orders for compliance, complete MSP, obtain financial and treatment consents, and place ordered medical procedures.
  • Obtain pre-certification when applicable, while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • High School completion / GED
  • Minimum 3 years of job-related experience
  • Proficient in Windows-based computer technology, including keyboarding and typing at least 25 wpm
  • Medical Terminology certification preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in healthcare or related business field
  • Customer service, general clerical/office, hospital, medical office/clinic, or insurance company experience
Working Conditions

Patient Access Specialists are required to maintain excellent customer service standards at all times, effectively communicating with physicians, physician offices, patients, and co-workers. They must also efficiently perform all duties while ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy rights.
