Key Responsibilities
The Clinical Specialist will operate within the Pharmacy Department, reporting directly to the Director of Pharmacy. This role serves as a key resource for best practices and the safe and effective utilization of medications. Responsibilities include overseeing Glycemic Management Programs throughout the health system, collaborating with Internal Medicine teams at GHMC, and providing remote support for Glycemic Management initiatives. Additionally, the Clinical Specialist will coordinate the systemwide Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.

The compensation range for this position is $124,581-$149,497 USD annually.
Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with New York State law regarding Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.
When determining compensation, various factors may be considered, including location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
PharmD, successful completion of a PGY1 Residency
Minimum Experience: Clinical rotations as required to fulfill educational requirements.
Required Certification/Registration: Current and ongoing NYS Pharmacist License and Registration.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, and sit throughout the day. Visual acuity required for close computer work and report preparation.
Working Conditions:
Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Work in a clean, well-lit, heated, or ventilated facility with no routine exposure to hazards.
For Remote and Hybrid Remote positions: If operationally necessary, the position may require on-site work.
Physical Demands: Ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Demonstrates visual and aural acuity and dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Capable of enduring long periods of sitting, standing, and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 10 lbs. On-call availability is required. Responds to emergency codes while on-site and collaborates with the MERT team to manage medications during crises. Participates in daily critical care rounds.
Mental Demands: Ability to cultivate collaborative relationships, work effectively under pressure, organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking and analytical skills, along with flexibility. Capable of multitasking and maintaining detailed attention to work in an environment with frequent interruptions. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations. May be subject to irregular hours, including evenings or weekends, to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
