Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aging and Disability Program Coordinator to join our team at the Department of Health and Human Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining information on new programs, regulations, policy statements, and enacted legislation involving or affecting the Center or Office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess program effectiveness and improve processes and systems that impact aging and disability programs.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor programs oriented to the delivery of services for older adults and individuals with disabilities.
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to advance access to services and alignment of health and social care.
  • Plan and implement innovative initiatives that align health and social care and advance access to community-based services and supports through technology, infrastructure, and payment.
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Selective Service: Males born after December 31, 1959, must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • Background security investigation required for all appointees.
  • One-year probationary period may be required.
Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Basic AND Specialized Experience requirements as noted below.

Basic Requirement
  • Possess a degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
  • Possess a combination of education and experience -- that provided you with the knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
  • Possess four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
Specialized Experience
  • GS-14: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-13 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing all (4) duties listed below:
    • Assessing program effectiveness to improve processes and systems that impact aging and disability programs.
    • Planning, coordinating, and monitoring programs oriented to the delivery of services for older adults and individuals with disabilities.
    • Collaborating and communicating with internal and external stakeholders to advance access to services and alignment of health and social care.
    • Planning and implementing innovative initiatives that align health and social care and advance access to community-based services and supports through technology, infrastructure, and payment.
