JOB SUMMARY
This role is pivotal in overseeing the financial documentation of the company's Affiliates. The individual will manage the input of financial transactions, ensure the integrity of financial ledgers, deliver timely and precise management reports, and uphold suitable cash levels for the organization. Additionally, the role involves conducting financial analyses and technical evaluations for current strategic investments and potential ventures associated with the Affiliates.

POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate invoices and deposits for processing along with necessary journal entries, input financial transactions into the company ledgers, reconcile bank and account balances, and document relevant adjusting journal entries.
  • Process and approve bi-weekly payroll batches ensuring accuracy and timely payroll posting.
  • Compile monthly financial reports, which include conducting budget versus actual variance analysis and managing the organization’s cash positions.
  • Maintain company ledgers and implement appropriate system edit controls.
  • Calculate quarterly member estimated taxes and execute necessary distributions and/or payments to tax authorities.
  • Develop annual entity budgets and forecasts utilizing inputs gathered through partner intake meetings.
  • Collaborate with affiliate operations team members, company personnel, and management on a variety of operational and financial matters.
  • Provide ongoing support for payroll and benefits, new hire compensation analysis and onboarding, insurance coverage and claims processing, as well as expense management and oversight.
  • Prepare and present financial impact analyses to senior management, including financial assessments to support the expansion of existing entities, establishment of financial best practices, and exploration of new investment opportunities.
  • Establish new affiliate company finances, which entails creating general ledgers and reports, opening bank accounts, setting up payroll and benefits, and acquiring insurance and assets.
  • Assist with the annual financial statement audit, which includes preparing client assistance requests and collaborating with audit staff during procedural walkthroughs.
  • Prepare and/or file tax returns for partnership income, personal property taxes, sales and use taxes, and 1099 filings.
  • Complete additional projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Proficient in entering and retrieving information from company systems and software applications.
  • Capable of downloading/exporting data from company systems to Excel for summary and analysis.
  • Ability to effectively interact with external contacts, employees, managers, and departmental staff.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • A Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or finance with a minimum of two years of accounting emphasis is required.
  • Two to three years of accounting or finance experience is necessary.
  • Certification as a Certified Public Accountant, Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance (AIAF), and/or Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite products, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with AS400 is desirable.
