Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Airport Operations Manager to join our team at the City of San Angelo, TX. As a key member of our airport management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of the San Angelo Regional Airport - Mathis Field (SJT).

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage airport operations, maintenance, security, and safety programs to ensure compliance with City, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Develop and implement programs and procedures to ensure airport operations meet state and Federal compliance regulations.
  • Supervise airport maintenance staff, train and monitor staff, conduct disciplinary actions as needed, and promote team building.
  • Assist in preparing and directing airport operation and capital improvement budgets.
  • Ensure the airport maintains Airport Operating Certificates according to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 139 of Title 14, Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR Part 139).
  • Coordinate and supervise inspection, maintenance, and repairs of airport facilities and ground support functions.
  • Communicate with the general public, hangar tenants, government agencies, vendors, contractors, and others to coordinate operations and maintenance of airport grounds and facilities.
  • Develop and monitor budget for maintenance and operations divisions.
  • Plan and coordinate emergency response training, exercises, and practice drills.
  • Respond to requests for information within designated scope of authority.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or Public Administration.
  • Four years' experience in operations of an equivalent airport.
  • Valid Texas Driver License with a good driving record.
  • Accreditation from the American Association of Airport Executives is preferred.
Working Conditions

Work is performed in a standard office environment, outdoors, and in maintenance facilities.
