Job Summary

Creative Financial Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Project Accountant to join their team. As a Project Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the financial functions of assigned projects, working closely with the project team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and job cost processes on assigned projects.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure proper contract values are in the accounting software for all committed costs, and reconcile monthly client billings and generate periodic project cost reports.
  • Client Billing: Responsible for client billings, ability to read construction contracts to determine billing deadlines, billable and non-reimbursable expenses, and approved billing rates for staff and field labor.
  • Project Closeout: Manage project financial closeout, ensure final contract amounts and closeout documentation has been received from all subcontractors prior to issuing final payments.
  • Support and Audits: Assist in audits and other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred or equivalent combination of education & experience.
  • Experience: Construction accounting, AP and/or AR experience.
  • Skills: Familiarity with construction contracts, strong time management skills, and the ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office, with a focus on Excel, Word & Outlook, and experience using Deltek Advantage Software.
