Overview
TalentFish is seeking a skilled Accountant to join their financial team, supporting financial operations and accounting, analytics, and compliance needs.


The Financial Accountant will be essential in supervising and directing the financial activities of the organization.


This role entails ensuring that financial reports are accurate and delivered on time, adhering to accounting regulations, and facilitating external audits and tax procedures.


The Financial Accountant will collaborate closely with the Accounting Manager and various teams to enhance financial workflows, analyze data for informed decision-making, and contribute to the company's expansion.


This position is vital for an individual who is meticulous, well-organized, and proactive in recognizing opportunities for enhancing the accounting operations.

What You Bring to the Role. (Ideal Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA nice to have.
  • 5+ years' experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Skilled in accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance.

· General Ledger (GL) experience with hands-on experience managing and overseeing the general ledger within a company's accounting system.

· Experience in Recording Transactions: Ensuring all financial transactions (such as revenue, expenses, assets, liabilities, and equity entries) are accurately recorded in the general ledger.

· Experience in Reconciliations: Performing account reconciliations to verify that the ledger entries match bank statements, subsidiary ledgers, and other financial records.

· Experience with Month-End and Year-End Close: Managing the closing process at the end of each period, ensuring that all financial data is recorded, adjustments are made, and the ledger is finalized for financial reporting.

· Experience with Journal Entries: Preparing and posting journal entries to adjust the general ledger for various accounting activities, including accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.

· Experience with Financial Reporting: Generating financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, etc.) based on the information in the general ledger, ensuring that the data is accurate and compliant with accounting standards.

· Experience with Compliance and Audits: Ensuring the general ledger complies with accounting regulations and supporting audits by providing detailed GL information.

  • Experience with accounting software, Google Suite and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with ERP finance / accounting systems is a PLUS.
  • Detail focused with superior analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently within a team.

What You'll Do. (Skills Used in this Position)

  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes including balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
  • Support full general ledger management.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Accruals: As part of the month end close process, analyze and update accruals accordingly.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Provide insights to support strategic planning.
  • Support compliance, audit, tax compliance, payroll tax compliance, 1099 reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies. Stay updated on changes in accounting principles.
  • Process Improvement, Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in providing detail for the development of budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
