Position Overview:
The Medical Genetics Program at Corewell Health is in search of a qualified candidate for the role of Section Chief in Medical Genetics. This position is ideal for a board eligible or board certified Medical Geneticist who is eager to contribute to the advancement of our expanding program.

Key Responsibilities:
The Section Chief will be accountable for various critical areas, including:

  • Leadership: Providing guidance and direction to the genetics team.
  • Growth: Fostering the development and expansion of the program.
  • Quality, Safety & Clinical Innovation: Ensuring high standards of care and innovative practices.
  • Development of People: Mentoring and supporting the professional growth of team members.
  • Patient Service and Perception of Care: Enhancing patient experiences and outcomes.
  • Finance: Overseeing budgetary considerations and resource allocation.
  • Academic and Faculty Affairs: Engaging in educational initiatives and faculty development.

Clinical Responsibilities:
This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for pediatric and adult patients with complex genetic disorders and inherited conditions. The physician will prioritize quality and safety in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

  • Board eligibility or certification in Biochemical Genetics.
  • A valid Physician License (MD) or Osteopathic Physician License (DO).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
