Position Overview:

The Cancer Genetics Program at Corewell Health System is in search of a Section Chief who is board certified or board eligible in Medical Genetics or Oncology. Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Provide direction and vision for the Cancer Genetics Program.

  • Development of People: Mentor and support the professional growth of team members.
  • Patient Service and Perception of Care: Enhance patient experience and satisfaction.
  • Finance: Oversee financial performance and resource allocation.
  • Academic and Faculty Affairs: Engage in educational initiatives and faculty development.

Clinical Duties:

This role includes the assessment of patients with hereditary cancer risks, providing recommendations for risk management, prevention, and treatment strategies. The physician will collaborate with a team of genetic counselors, oncology specialists, and other genetics professionals to deliver comprehensive care.

Qualifications:

  • Board eligible or board certified in Medical Genetics or Oncology.
  • Valid Physician License (MD) or Osteopathic Physician (DO).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
