Job Summary

The Colville Tribes is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Community Center Representative to join our team. As a Community Center Representative, you will be responsible for assisting in the organization, implementation, and execution of community services, activities, and sporting events for the community, including youth, elders, and the general public.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing community events, activities, and programs.
  • Provide excellent customer service to community members, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the community center, including setup and teardown of events.
  • Develop and implement programs and activities that promote community engagement and participation.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure seamless execution of events and programs.
  • Provide support to the Community Center Supervisor and other staff members as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • General knowledge of sport and game rules, purpose, and equipment usage.
  • Basic knowledge of safety procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of facility use scheduling.
  • Basic knowledge of human development concepts.
  • Knowledge of safety requirements applicable to leading participants in recreational activity.
  • Knowledge of personal computers sufficient to access and use common office productivity software.
  • Sufficient math skill to add and subtract.
  • Sufficient language skills to write or edit course, sport, and activity descriptions and promotional materials.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Sufficient human relations skills to use courtesy when dealing with others and demonstrate or instruct participants on use of equipment or facilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of standard playground, sports equipment, and janitorial supplies.
  • Understanding of the needs of the Nespelem community and knowledge of and sensitivity to cultural identity.
  • Ability to carry out the essential functions of the position.
  • Ability to learn and apply the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures used by the department in connection with recreational activity.
  • Ability to facilitate activities with small groups of varying age and ability.
  • Ability to work as a contributing member of a team, work productively and cooperatively with staff, programs, and the general public.
  • Ability to safely operate power tools and machinery utilized for the maintenance of the community center.
  • Ability to write clear factual reports to the director and communicate professionally.
  • Ability to maintain a drug and alcohol-free lifestyle and exhibit a positive personality toward all community members.
  • Ability to maintain and prepare reports.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, explain, and apply all policies, laws, regulations, codes, and ordinances applicable to the Center.
  • Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work as a contributing member of a team, work productively and cooperatively with other teams and community members, and convey a positive image of the Tribe and its services.
