Accounting Clerk Job Description

Kent Outdoors is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of financial reports, maintaining accurate financial records, and performing general accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records for the direct-to-consumer channel.
  • Post daily cash receipts from various sources, focusing on exception reporting to ensure timely resolution of transaction flow anomalies.
  • Maintain daily banking reconciliation schedules.
  • Assist the Treasury function with regular reconciliation of borrowing base assets.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of various tax documents and reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support for various projects.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of financial controls and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Dynamics365, QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
