Georgetown Hill is in search of early childhood educators for our growing campuses in Prince George's County. We pride ourselves on being more than just a typical daycare.

Georgetown Hill Early School is a non-profit institution committed to fulfilling the preschool, elementary, and childcare needs of Maryland families. Our mission is to unite educators, children, and their families to create an exceptional early childhood learning experience.

We are looking for Lead Educators to become part of our Infant/Toddler, Preschool, and Bilingual programs at various campuses:

  • Greenwood/Hyattsville - Situated in a convenient location off of East/West Highway
  • Sunny Days/Riverdale - Close to a prominent building near College Park

Compensation is commensurate with experience and relevant qualifications, ranging from $20-24/hr.

Positions available are full-time, with hours from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm. Your responsibilities will include addressing the individual needs of our students and promoting each child's independence in a nurturing environment filled with trust and warmth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cater to the educational needs and interests of preschool-aged children through a creative and age-appropriate curriculum.
  • Oversee preschool children to ensure their health, safety, and well-being.
  • Support the physical, socio-emotional, and developmental needs of each child in the classroom.
  • Exhibit effective leadership within the classroom team.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and foster positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the community.
  • Maintain classroom management that promotes a consistent, safe, and positive learning environment for all students and staff.

Requirements:

Our ideal candidate will possess 1-3 years of relevant experience along with the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in early childhood education (ECE) or a Bachelor's degree in a different field plus the MSDE 90hr Preschool/Infant/Toddler Certification.
  • A solid understanding of child development principles and instructional strategies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MSDE regulations.
  • A warm, friendly, and composed demeanor.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including grammar and reading proficiency.
  • Consistent reliability in attendance and punctuality.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative.

In accordance with Maryland State Department of Education Office of Child Care regulations, all applicants must undergo and successfully complete a state and federal background check as a condition of employment.
