Georgetown Hill Early School is expanding and is in search of preschool educators for our growing campuses in Prince George's County. We pride ourselves on being more than just a daycare.

As a non-profit institution, Georgetown Hill has been serving the educational needs of Maryland families since 1980. Our mission is to unite educators, children, and their families to provide an exceptional early childhood learning experience.

We are looking for Lead Educators to join our Infant/Toddler, Preschool, and Bilingual programs across various campuses:

  • Greenwood/Hyattsville - Located in the Kaiser building off of East/West Highway.
  • Sunny Days/Riverdale - Situated in the USAPHIS building near College Park.

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications, ranging from $20 to $25 per hour.

Full-time positions are available, with hours from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM. Your role will involve addressing the unique needs of our students and promoting each child's independence in a warm, family-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the educational development and interests of preschool children through a creative and age-appropriate curriculum.
  • Oversee preschool children to ensure their health, safety, and well-being.
  • Support the physical, socio-emotional, and developmental needs of each child in the classroom.
  • Exhibit effective leadership within the classroom team.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the community.
  • Manage the classroom to create a consistent, safe, and positive learning environment for all students and staff.

Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate will possess 1-3 years of relevant experience and the following credentials:

  • A Bachelor's degree in early childhood education (ECE) or a Bachelor's degree in an unrelated field with the MSDE 90-hour Preschool/Infant/Toddler Certification.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and instructional strategies.
  • In-depth knowledge of MSDE regulations.
  • A warm, friendly, and composed demeanor.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliability in attendance and punctuality.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • A collaborative team player.

In accordance with Maryland State Department of Education Office of Child Care regulations, all applicants must successfully pass a state and federal background check as a condition of employment.
