Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Systems Technician to join our team at the City of Panama City, FL. As an Electrical Systems Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical power, lighting, HVAC, and communication systems in our facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist senior electricians in wiring and installation of electrical equipment and fixtures, such as motors, generators, switches, circuit breakers, controllers, light fixtures, and breaker boxes, in compliance with blueprints, schematic drawings, and sketches.
  • Install wiring and fixtures conforming to specifications of local electrical codes.
  • Follow verbal, written, and digital instructions.
  • Use test equipment regularly, such as a voltmeter and ohmmeter.
  • Use hand tools of the electrical trade, plus power tools, ditch witch, bucket truck, and chainsaws.
  • Work under adverse conditions, including heat, cold, inclement weather, and be able to perform manual-type labor, such as digging, heavy lifting, etc.
  • Work at heights well above ground level from/out of various types of equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalent diploma.
  • Florida Class B CDL License, with air brake endorsement, or ability to obtain within twelve months of employment.
Work Environment

This position requires moderate to extreme exposure to one or more disagreeable conditions, including inclement weather, excessive noise, extreme temperatures, strong odors, or dust.
