General Overview

The Construction Site Supervisor will oversee and coordinate all on-site operations, ensuring that construction initiatives are executed safely, effectively, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in heavy civil construction, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of managing multiple teams and projects concurrently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organizing daily activities based on priorities and plans, adapting as needed due to weather, supply chain issues, and personnel changes.
  • Assigning specific responsibilities and projects to team members and subcontractors.
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, and mentoring staff and subcontractors.
  • Ensuring adequate resources and personnel are available to meet project timelines, legal requirements, best practices, and safety standards.
  • Promoting the safe operation of tools, machinery, and equipment while providing training on safety protocols and gear.
  • Developing and managing project budgets and quality benchmarks for all job sites.
  • Quickly resolving conflicts or misunderstandings in a constructive manner.
  • Regularly updating project status to supervisors, site engineers, and other relevant personnel.
Educational Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
Experience Requirements
  • Relevant training and experience are essential.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong customer service skills to engage with inspectors and administration, fostering positive working relationships.
  • Decision-making abilities for selecting personnel and subcontractors to meet deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Leadership qualities for effectively delegating tasks to team members.
  • Communication skills for issuing clear instructions, explaining complex information to clients and construction teams, and discussing technical details.
  • Technical expertise for interpreting construction methodologies and technologies, as well as contracts and technical drawings.
  • Time management skills to ensure deadlines are met and construction phases are completed on schedule.
  • Writing proficiency for preparing budgets, proposals, and plans, along with documenting work progress for clients and stakeholders.
Physically, the Construction Site Supervisor must be capable of:
  • Working skillfully with hands.
  • Climbing and maintaining balance on ladders and scaffolding.
  • Having good vision (naturally or with correction) and distinguishing colors.
  • Reaching for, handling, and manipulating wires and hand tools.
  • Bending, crouching, and working in confined spaces.
  • Lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Base Salary Range:
$7.25 - $300.00
Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
