About the Role

Stantec is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer - Project Lead to join our team. As a key member of our Buildings team, you will be responsible for leading complex electrical engineering projects from conceptualization to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of electrical engineers and designers on multiple projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of project documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to staff members, helping them develop their skills and abilities.
  • Collaborate with clients to establish design criteria, review design progress, and support construction administration.
  • Evaluate, select, and engineer electrical systems and products for projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop and coordinate project specifications, construction documents, and technical reports.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain new standards and specifications for the electrical engineering group, working with a team of electrical engineers.
  • Perform field work to review existing facility conditions and develop site-specific electrical design documents.
  • Apply technical expertise to lead cross-functional resources, meeting project requirements within established timeframes and budget.
  • Provide client consultation, drawing on professional expertise and knowledge of Stantec's services.
  • Nurture existing client relationships and pursue new business opportunities by developing scope, design budgets, and design approaches.
  • Act as a resource for staff members, providing training and guidance on technical expertise, electrical codes, and design processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with a lighting/electrical emphasis.
  • Minimum 15 years of related professional experience.
  • Professional Engineering license required.
  • LEED Green Associate or LEED AP preferred.
