Description & Requirements

As a key member of our Talent Alignment Group (TAG), the Tax Talent Alignment Manager collaborates closely with Managers and Partners to ensure that client engagements are appropriately staffed. This role is essential in enabling our practices to effectively utilize the right talent for the right clients at the right time. Our team is dedicated to the efficient deployment of our firm's talent while providing opportunities for professional growth, all while balancing the needs of the business and our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assigning talent to suitable client projects based on timing, travel, skill levels, and other essential criteria.
  • Employing scheduling tools to predict hours, manage utilization, and oversee overall headcount, chargeable hours, and overtime to ensure equitable work distribution.
  • Addressing open staffing needs by identifying solutions and anticipating potential conflicts, proactively managing them by generating ideas and presenting alternative solutions.
  • Working with engagement teams to maintain an updated scheduling system with accurate information for reliable reporting and forecasting.
  • Keeping a thorough understanding of the skills, experiences, and career aspirations of professional staff to ensure optimal alignment of client assignments; ensuring skills and interest profiles are regularly updated as necessary.
  • Maintaining awareness of current and future staffing needs and capacity.
  • Analyzing resource data to identify trends around key metrics such as availability, utilization, actual versus scheduled variance data, team leverage, and open staffing needs.
  • Collaborating with leadership to ensure alignment with strategic goals, highlighting areas of opportunity, concern, or performance challenges.
  • Building strong relationships with client-serving personnel at all levels and closely collaborating with other Internal Firm Services teams (e.g., Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Operations).
  • Working with peers to innovate, educate, and promote consistent resource management practices across the firm.
  • May serve as a mentor or coach for junior resource management staff.
Qualifications:

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • 5 or more years of experience in a similar capacity.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, including data management and manipulation capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in tax client service and/or tax resource management.
  • Willingness to work beyond 40 hours a week, as necessary.
  • Some business travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10 or more years of experience in a similar role.
  • CPA license or Resource Management Certified Professional (RMCP).
