  • Infrastructure Management: Manage port infrastructure, facilities, and equipment to ensure optimal utilization and maintenance.
  • Cargo Handling Operations: Collaborate with terminal operators and other service providers to ensure smooth cargo handling operations.

  • Improvement Initiatives: Identify and implement improvements to enhance port efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Safety and Compliance
  • Safety Promotion: Promote and enforce adherence to safety procedures and regulations within the port area.
  • Safety Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant maritime regulations, port bylaws, and international standards.
  • Incident Reporting: Investigate and report incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and implement preventive measures.
Team Leadership
  • Team Supervision: Supervise and lead a team of port operations personnel.
  • Training and Development: Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Culture Development: Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement among team members.
Requirements
  • Education: High School education.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Possess a USCG Merchant Mariners License, Master Towing Vessels license preferred.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of vessel operations experience on the inland waterways.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of modern navigation software, familiar with regulatory requirements and vessel inspections, experience supervising a large group of employees, training and employee development, Microsoft Office skills.
  • Travel Requirements: 40% travel to vessels (willing to stand weekend/evening duty).
