Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Acquisitions to join our team at Mini Mall Storage Properties. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the growth and expansion of our self-storage business through strategic acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in outbound lead generation activities to build a network of potential sellers of self-storage facilities throughout the U.S.
- Source, negotiate, and assist in closing the acquisition of storage facilities across the U.S.
- Be accountable for building and maintaining strong relationships with potential sellers.
- Research potential leads from business directories, web searches, or digital resources, and develop strategic plans to enter new markets.
- Be responsible for qualifying the validity of leads from third-party referral partners.
- Collect and analyze business information to assist in the underwriting and valuation of facilities.
- Collaborate with the senior leadership team to negotiate the successful purchase of facilities.
- Be responsible for updating the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and utilizing information to analyze trends and forecasts.
- Stay accountable for keeping up-to-date on economic trends and events, researching market reports, and industry news that impact the self-storage environment in the U.S.
- Participate in industry events to develop long-term relationships required to facilitate strategic acquisitions.
- Travel as needed to perform site visits or conduct in-person negotiations with potential acquisition vendors.
Requirements
- Experience managing key customer relationships and closing strategic opportunities.
- Experience building and managing a territory.
- Ability to manage sales.
- Comfortable generating new leads and building relationships from the ground up.
- Ability to travel across the U.S. up to 75% of the time.
- Thorough understanding of clients' wants, needs, desires, and managing the relationship over time.
- Ability to build and lead a sales team while creating a forward-looking B2B acquisition strategy.
- Background in finance is preferred.
