Key Responsibilities- Makes Rounds and Provides Support
Make regular rounds on all units to support nursing staff, provide coaching and mentoring, and help problem-solve by obtaining reports from Charge Nurses and staff RNs.
- Works with Resource Staffing and Customer Service
Collaborate with the Resource Staffing Department to stabilize core staffing levels and work with the Customer Service Department to resolve customer service-related issues involving nursing.
- Manages Critical Issues
Manage critical personnel issues in the absence of management, including fitness for duty, insubordination, sleeping on duty, theft, and possession of a firearm.
- Coordinates Bed Management and Diversion
Coordinate bed management and diversion issues with the Administrator on call, Nursing Leadership, and Patient Placement Coordinators.
- Reviews Deaths and Handles Related Issues
Review all deaths for Medical Examiner/Coroner if appropriate and review death certificates for completeness, handling other related issues as needed.
- Works with Employee Health and Infection Control
Provide support in enforcing policies and procedures regarding patients and staff, including blood body fluid exposure and TB screenings.
- Serves as Planning Chief and Incident Commander
Serve as Planning Chief and temporary Incident Commander in the event of a disaster, initiating the disaster beeper alert system.
- Collaborates with Security and Public Relations
Collaborate with Security on miscellaneous issues and work with Public Relations to meet the needs of the news media regarding patient conditions and matters of public record.
- Acts as a Resource and Support to Nursing Management
Act as a resource and support to Nursing Management regarding policies and procedures, including drug diversion, fitness for duty, human resource issues, legal, clinical, and MD issues.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required, with 3 years of nursing experience and 5 years of experience preferred.
- Current South Carolina R.N. License
A current South Carolina R.N. License is required.
This is a night shift position at the Greer Medical Campus, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and satisfaction.
