The Benefits Specialist role at MidFirst Bank is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs. This includes directing and planning the administration of group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, worker's compensation, life insurance, voluntary benefits, flexible spending plan, Health Savings Accounts, and other benefits.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
  • Conducting new-hire onboarding and performing quality checks of benefits-related data.
  • Assisting employees with benefits claim issues and plan changes.
  • Enrolling employees with carriers and processing life status changes.
  • Responding to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes, and other general inquiries.
  • Managing the open enrollment process and providing necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.
  • Coordinating daily benefits processing, including enrollments, COBRA, terminations, and changes.
  • Gathering employee data and completing the processing of monthly billings and the preparation of payments of fees and premiums for all group plans.
  • Providing customer service support to internal customers and developing communication tools to enhance understanding of the company's benefits package.
  • Managing I-9 verifications.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in human resource management or a related field and three to five years of related benefits or employee benefits administration experience. Additional requirements include computer proficiency, technical aptitude, project and team management/leadership skills, and experience with HRIS and benefits databases.
