Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic individual with a robust background in retail management to oversee the sales operations of our furniture division. The Furniture Sales Operations Leader will collaborate closely with the Store Manager to uphold Downeast's vision through comprehensive responsibility for sales performance, profitability, team leadership, and daily store functions.

The ideal candidate will utilize their leadership abilities and resources to foster a successful, enjoyable, and fulfilling environment for store associates while ensuring an exceptional shopping experience for customers. This role is pivotal to the success of the organization and requires a motivated, determined, and well-rounded professional. This is a full-time, benefited position, reporting directly to the Store Manager.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Talent Development

  • Participates in the recruitment process for store personnel.
  • Actively mentors and promotes team members to advance within the organization.
  • Identifies skill gaps and collaborates with the Store Manager to make informed hiring choices.
  • Inspires and motivates team members by demonstrating core values consistently.
  • Recognizes and celebrates both individual and team accomplishments.
  • Facilitates company training and development initiatives for direct reports.
  • Maintains an open-door policy for team members to share concerns and ideas.

Operational Excellence

  • Partners with the Store Manager to effectively implement company strategies and maximize business opportunities.
  • Demonstrates strong time management skills in balancing responsibilities.
  • Provides training and support to the sales team regarding in-store operational procedures.
  • Ensures accountability for timelines, deadlines, and compliance standards among team members.

Business Growth

  • Drives results and capitalizes on business opportunities within their area of responsibility.
  • Trains and coaches the sales team on effective selling techniques, ensuring a positive and authentic connection with customers.
  • Manages personal schedule effectively.
  • Focuses on profitability and expense management.
  • Monitors scheduling and payroll within their area of responsibility.
  • Holds self and others accountable for achieving all performance metrics.
  • Assists the Store Manager in enforcing updates and changes to company policies and procedures.

Merchandising Standards

  • Ensures the successful execution of all visual merchandising and marketing initiatives in assigned stores.
  • Maintains a keen eye for visual presentation, cleanliness, and customer-facing standards.
  • Provides timely feedback on product performance and merchandising opportunities.
  • Addresses and resolves customer and associate inquiries related to products promptly.

Additional Duties

  • Ability to work the required schedule.
  • Ensures all associates comply with the company's Dress Code Guidelines.
  • Adheres to all applicable labor laws.
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
