Job Overview

Downeast is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Furniture Home Sales Manager to lead the sales floor at our Millcreek Combo location store in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in achieving sales, profitability, leadership, and daily operations goals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong retail managerial background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to create a successful, fun, and rewarding culture for store associates. They will also provide an exceptional shopping experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with interviewing candidates for the Store
  • Develop, support, and promote store support team members to next-step roles
  • Assess talent skill gaps and opportunities in stores and partner with the Store Manager in making effective hiring decisions
  • Inspire, motivate, and influence store team members by exhibiting core value behaviors
  • Recognize and celebrate individual and team achievements
  • Support and/or execute company training and development programs for direct reports
  • Provide an open-door policy for team members to express concerns and ideas

Operations and Growth:

  • Partner with the Store Manager to effectively manage execution of company strategies and drive results
  • Exercise strong time management to balance role responsibilities
  • Provide training and guidance to sales team on in-store operating procedures
  • Hold teams and individuals accountable to timelines, deadlines, and compliance standards
  • Drive results and maximize business opportunities within scope of responsibility
  • Train and coach selling behaviors in the store and ensure an engaging, positive, and authentic connection with customers

Merchandising and Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper execution of visual and marketing initiatives in assigned stores
  • Critically evaluate visual direction, execution, cleanliness, and customer-facing standards
  • Provide timely and accurate feedback on product or merchandising wins and opportunities
  • Address and resolve customer/associate questions and issues related to product
  • Ability to work the required schedule and ensure all associates adhere to the company's Dress Code Guidelines
