Job Summary

U.S. News & World Report is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our Money team. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to guide the development of products and services from conception to launch.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, statistical software packages, and data science programming languages. You will be responsible for analyzing key metrics, running A/B tests, predictive modeling, and dashboard development to understand product performance.

Additionally, you will generate revenue yield analysis and recommendations on partner campaigns and budgets. You will also work with large external datasets to enable our editorial experts to publish unique data-driven content pieces and advice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tactical support to product managers through the entire development lifecycle.
  • Analyze key metrics to understand product performance.
  • Run A/B tests, predictive modeling, and dashboard development.

  • Work with large external datasets to enable our editorial experts to publish unique data-driven content pieces and advice.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, data science, economics, computer science, or any other relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience coding with statistical software packages, preferably STATA.
  • Expert level proficiency in SQL, R, SAS, Python, or other data science programming languages.
  • Ability to work with large datasets and summarize key insights.
  • Data mining, analysis, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets to summarize and present data in a concise and easy-to-understand manner.
  • Strong research skills and the ability to answer questions with internal and external data sources.
  • Experience presenting analyses to non-technical audiences with simple explanations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with reporting/tracking tools, including Google Analytics.
  • Up-to-date knowledge on Internet publishing and metrics, with an acute understanding of SEO.
