Job Overview

Position: Installation Services Technician

Location: Northern California

The Installation Services Technician plays a crucial role in facilitating the installation of products at client locations. This position involves collaborating with a Development Group, Inc. employee on-site and may require travel to various client locations. Frequent overnight travel is expected, with accommodations and per diem provided by the company. We are seeking technicians located in the Redding, CA area or nearby regions. This role serves as an excellent entry point into a rewarding career in the IT sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the installation and/or removal of equipment following established operating procedures and best practices.
  • Prepare equipment for installation by unboxing, staging for configuration and testing, and ensuring proper re-packaging for shipment.
  • Utilize IST documentation tools to track and document installed equipment accurately.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained and accounted for.
  • Keep the job site organized and clean, securing all tools and equipment daily to mitigate hazards.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams.
  • Minimum age requirement of 18 years.
  • While there are no strict educational prerequisites, a High School Diploma is preferred.
  • Preferred coursework includes general shop, welding, mechanical drawing, blueprint reading, physics, and mathematics.
  • Prior experience in installation or construction is advantageous.
  • Physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and stamina are essential.

Required Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in English.
  • Familiarity with computer systems, including Microsoft Office and internet usage.
  • Ability to focus on tasks with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient documentation skills for case management and knowledge capture.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with team members across all organizational levels.
  • Commitment to completing training and development objectives within set timelines; motivated to achieve relevant certifications.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 75% of the time, including long hours, weekends, and overnight stays.
  • Capability to respond to non-technical support inquiries from internal staff and clients, conveying information clearly and concisely.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and proactive reporting of safety concerns.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong initiative.
  • Organizational and analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
  • Competence in performing administrative tasks such as reports and expense documentation.
  • Professional demeanor in all situations.
  • Tasks may include the installation of interior and exterior housings or weatherproof enclosures, utilizing tools such as drill bits, tape measures, and hand levels while working at heights.

Compensation:

The starting pay for all Temporary Installation Technicians is $17 per hour, with negotiable rates based on experience.
