Position: Installation Services Technician
Location: Northern California
The Installation Services Technician plays a crucial role in the deployment of products at client locations. This position involves collaborating with a Development Group, Inc. representative at various sites, which may necessitate travel, including overnight stays. Technicians are expected to be based in the Northern California region. This role serves as an excellent entry point into a rewarding career in the IT sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute the installation and/or removal of equipment following established protocols and best practices.
- Prepare equipment for installation by unboxing, staging for configuration and testing, and subsequently re-boxing for shipment.
- Utilize IST documentation tools to accurately document and track installed equipment.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained and accounted for.
- Keep the job site organized and safe by securing tools and equipment daily to mitigate hazards.
Qualifications:
- Experience in team leadership is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- While there are no formal educational requirements, a High School Diploma is recommended.
- Preferred coursework includes general shop, welding, mechanical drawing, blueprint reading, physics, and mathematics.
- Prior experience in installation or construction is advantageous.
- Physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and stamina are essential.
Required Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in English.
- Familiarity with computer systems, including Microsoft Office and internet usage.
- Ability to focus on tasks with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong documentation capabilities for case management and knowledge retention.
- Effective collaboration with colleagues across all organizational levels to enhance product development through industry insights and customer feedback.
- Commitment to completing training and development objectives promptly, with a focus on obtaining relevant certifications.
- Willingness to travel approximately 75% of the time, including long hours, weekends, and overnight trips.
- Capability to respond to non-technical inquiries from internal staff and clients, conveying information clearly and concisely.
- Adherence to safety protocols and proactive communication of safety concerns.
- Ability to work independently within a team-oriented environment, demonstrating initiative.
- Organizational and analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
- Competence in performing administrative tasks, such as reports and expense documentation.
- Professional demeanor in all situations.
- Tasks may include mounting interior and exterior housings or weatherproof enclosures, utilizing tools such as drill bits and tape measures.
Compensation:
The starting pay for this position is $17 per hour for all temporary installation technicians, with negotiable rates based on experience.
