Job Summary

E2 Consulting Engineers, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Distribution Design Engineer to support our main electric utility client in Hawaii. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the senior engineer and report directly to the Distribution Supervising Engineer or Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed design and engineering calculations of overhead and underground electric distribution systems to comply with client standards, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Verify Bill of Materials meet design and client requirements.
  • Design distribution projects with neatness and a small margin for error using PLS-CADD, O-Calc, SPIDA-Calc, or Pole Foreman software.
  • Conduct electrical design review meetings and provide minutes.
  • Interface with project management and designers during the design phase.
  • Communicate and coordinate project activities with the supervising engineer, client, and other stakeholders as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
  • 0-6 years of experience working in distribution design or similar with utility or consulting engineering firm.
  • Experience with reading pole loading sheets and inputting information to O-Calc software.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with distribution design and construction standards for Hawaiian Electric.
  • 3+ years of experience with O-Calc Software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
