Job Summary:

The Air National Guard Units seek an experienced Aircraft Electrician to join their team. As an Aircraft Electrician, you will be responsible for analyzing malfunctions, troubleshooting, removing, installing, repairing, modifying, maintaining, testing, aligning, calibrating, and certifying the components of the aircraft electrical system, the electronically and pneumatically controlled environmental system, and associated test equipment. Your goal will be to ensure these systems are airworthy by performing intensive inspections of the electrical/electronic and environmental system and peripherals.

Responsibilities:

• Perform functional tests, analyze performance, and troubleshoot electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical functions of subsystems integrated into the digital brake/antiskid system, maintenance annunciation panel (MAP) system of the integrated main generator, standby generator, emergency generator, flight control power, AC/DC power distribution, and subsystems integrated into the electronic/electronic and environmental systems.
    • Remove, repair, calibrate, install, align, inspect, and conduct operational performance checkouts on the components of the electronic/electronic and environmental systems.
    • Provide technical guidance, advice, and/or assistance to other work centers on the interrelationship of electronic/electronic and environmental systems and their respective systems, including flight controls, offensive fire control radar, weapon release, communications, hydraulic, fuel, engine, and egress.
    • Process and account for supply assets in the repairable processing system to maintain aircraft records, inspection records, and equipment maintenance in computer systems (CAMS).
    • Inspect, test, and perform operative maintenance on cryogenic and gaseous oxygen and nitrogen servicing equipment.
    • Provide on-the-job training to lower-grade personnel concerning repair of the electronic/electronic and environmental equipment, aircraft system line replaceable units (LRUs), and aircraft electrical/environmental systems.
    • Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations, such as Operational Readiness inspections (ORI), Inspector General (IG) inspections, Unit Effectiveness Inspections, and mobility and command support exercises.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• General Experience: Experience or training that has provided a knowledge and skill in locating and tying in the electrical systems with the aircraft armament, electronics, and instrument systems; adjusting and calibrating the components of the various electrical systems; reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
    • Specialized Experience: At least 18 months of experience or training installing, maintaining, repairing, and modifying electrical systems and major substation components of electrical systems. Experience diagnosing malfunctions and determining remedy when complex relationships exist among different electrical system circuits requiring knowledge of all electrical units and systems. Experience making electrical repairs that require the use of precision measuring equipment and common hand tools.
    • Experience in the setup and operation of computerized multiple circuit analyzing equipment in manual, semiautomatic, or automatic mode to run existing and new diagnostic programs to test and analyze aircraft electrical circuitry and interconnecting cabling of systems such as navigational computers, radar, and related equipment and to repair discrepancies.
