Position Overview:

Join our dedicated team as a part-time Emergency Care Support Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in assisting the Emergency Department (ED) under the guidance of registered nurses. This position involves a blend of 8 and 12-hour shifts, including evenings and nights, with rotational weekends.


Key Responsibilities:

As an integral member of the healthcare team, you will:

  • Provide compassionate, age-appropriate care tailored to the needs of our diverse patient population.
  • Assist in preparing patients for examinations and treatments, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
  • Implement infection control practices and maintain a clean, safe environment for patients.
  • Support medical staff by setting up necessary equipment and procedure trays for various emergency interventions.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations, including trauma and code activations, to assist in patient care.
  • Perform routine tasks such as bathing, hygiene assistance, and transporting patients safely.
  • Monitor patient safety through regular rounds and timely responses to call lights.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and assist with the collection of specimens for laboratory analysis.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Prior experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills for clinical documentation.
  • Current CPR certification and relevant state clearances.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in phlebotomy and EKG, along with training in acute care settings, will be advantageous.
