Position:
Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist - Nuvance Health

Overview:
The Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist plays a crucial role in the cardiac catheterization lab, utilizing specialized equipment to assist in diagnosing and treating heart conditions. This position is vital for ensuring patient safety and comfort during invasive procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist medical professionals by employing sterile techniques during all invasive cardiovascular procedures, including angioplasty. Prepare necessary surgical instruments and materials.
2. Monitor patients' hemodynamic status and ECG, documenting vital information and generating reports post-procedure.
3. Conduct pre-procedure interviews to gather medical histories, review lab results, educate patients and families, and secure informed consent.
4. Ensure the cath lab is ready for testing by calibrating and performing quality assurance checks on all relevant equipment.
5. Prepare and position patients, connect monitoring devices, perform ECGs, and document findings in medical records.
6. Support cardiologists with arterial closure devices and manage sheath removal and hemostasis.
7. Serve as a resource for colleagues regarding the use and troubleshooting of complex medical equipment.
8. Collect data for cardiac catheterization registries and databases.
9. Participate in various duties, including inventory management, quality improvement initiatives, patient transport, and scheduling.
10. Be available for on-call duties as scheduled for emergency procedures.
11. Meet the organization's standards for quality, service, teamwork, and community involvement.
12. Adhere to all compliance responsibilities related to the role.
13. Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or GED. Basic computer proficiency, ability to interpret EKGs, and experience with hemodynamic pressure readings. One year of experience in endovascular, interventional, and diagnostic procedures.

Certifications:
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) are mandatory.

Preferred:
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification is desirable. Familiarity with permanent pacemaker and defibrillator implants is a plus.
