Compensation:
$4,125 - $4,396 per week

As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Cardiac Cath Lab Technician plays a crucial role in assisting medical professionals with the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac and peripheral vascular conditions, as well as cardiac arrhythmias within the Cath/EP Lab environment. This position focuses on providing exceptional care to patients undergoing procedures such as PTCA, stent placements, IABP placements, and electrophysiology device interventions.

The Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist serves as a technical expert, offering scrub assistance to cardiologists during both diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures related to cardiac and peripheral vascular health.


Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with physicians to diagnose and treat cardiac and peripheral vascular diseases in an invasive procedural setting, with a focus on patients undergoing cardiac and vascular interventions.

- Conduct fundamental diagnostic catheterization procedures on adult patients with known or suspected congenital and acquired cardiac and peripheral vascular conditions.

- Execute basic interventional procedures, which may encompass PTCA, stent preparation and placement, and IABP operation.

- Perform essential electrophysiology procedures, including EP studies, pacemaker and ICD implantation, and ablations.

- Operate physiological and radiographic equipment safely and efficiently.

- Uphold established professional standards and adhere to safety protocols to ensure high-quality patient care.

- Participate in ongoing training to maintain and enhance critical patient care and equipment skills.

- Facilitate patient transport as necessary.

- Maintain effective communication with patients, continuously assessing their status during procedures and providing age and gender-specific care, while preparing access sites according to lab standards.

- Conduct EKG lead placements, blood pressure monitoring, and pulse oximetry setup for hemodynamic assessments.

- Prepare and break down procedure rooms, ensuring accurate fluid preparation, room stocking, narcotic counts, daily quality control checks, and overall cleanliness.

- Assemble sterile procedure trays and establish sterile fields for specific procedures.

- Adhere to all occupational and radiation safety regulations, utilizing required personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.

- Gather and accurately document relevant patient information on encounter forms and input data into hemodynamic and X-ray systems.

- Assist physicians with EP diagnostic and mapping systems, including Carto, EPMed, and ESI.

- Maintain sterile procedures and infection control, ensuring fluid patency of catheters, balloons, and manifolds, while assisting according to physician directives.

- Comply with all Amergis policies, rules, and procedures.

- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of a CCAHEP or ASCP/SCP accredited program is preferred.

- A bachelor's degree in biology, anatomy, physiology, or a related field is preferred.

- At least 1 year of experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab is preferred.

- ACLS/PALS certification as per contract requirements.

- Adherence to all relevant professional standards of practice.

- Participation in Amergis' Competency program when applicable.

- Current CPR certification if applicable.

- TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable.

- Current health certificate as per contract or state regulations.

- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.

- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to the job site.

- Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.

- Ability to effectively communicate information to and from relevant individuals, including supervisors, co-workers, and clients, demonstrating strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required.

- Computer proficiency is required.

- Must be at least 18 years of age.
