As the Director of Risk Management, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, executing, and managing a comprehensive risk management framework that effectively identifies, assesses, and mitigates potential risks affecting residents, employees, and visitors.
  • Creating and updating policies, procedures, and training materials that align with best practices in risk management.
  • Conducting thorough investigations into safety incidents and developing improvement plans to enhance risk education and mitigation efforts.
  • Overseeing the administration of self-insured workers' compensation and safety programs, including collaboration with third-party claims administrators.
  • Providing expert guidance to management on workplace safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Contributing to the management of corporate insurance programs and supporting business continuity initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in a healthcare-related field.
  • Certification as a Professional in Health Care Risk Management (CPHRM) is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in healthcare risk management or safety.
  • Strong clinical knowledge, ideally from experience in nursing or a similar clinical role.
  • Familiarity with self-insured workers' compensation and OSHA regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess complex information and develop actionable solutions.
