Job Description

Wellmark, Inc. is seeking a seasoned technology leader to drive strategic direction and oversight of the company's technology strategy. As the Vice President, Chief Technology Officer, you will define and provide leadership, strategic direction, and oversight of Wellmark's Technology Strategy in collaboration with the Chief Information Officer.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering technology solutions in support of strategic business initiatives and programs, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic planning and aligning technology strategy to deliver on business objectives.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Defining and implementing the strategic business plan and operational goals in partnership with Senior Leaders
  • Providing strategic direction and leadership for a team of professional staff involved in enterprise planning, building, and operations functions
  • Leading the implementation efforts related to the Wellmark technology strategy, ensuring the company achieves an industry technology leadership position
  • Identifying and monitoring key competitor commercial and business initiatives, as well as industry trends, and proactively communicating their impact on Wellmark

The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of the technology industry, with knowledge of current and future policies, practices, and trends in technology affecting the industry and business environment.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Providing direction and oversight for the execution of enterprise technology platforms and services
  • Leading the strategy and execution of enterprise architecture standards and practices, cloud strategy and operations, API platforms, and enterprise data assets
  • Driving adoption of the reference architecture, standards, and practices in alignment with organizational investment priorities
  • Providing oversight and strategic direction to leaders and global teams that lead strategic initiatives and technology operations
