Job Overview

Join our dynamic team at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Platform Integration (PINT) within the Enterprise Engineering Services Organization. We specialize in the development of tools and the management of OCI cloud lab environments.

Our labs serve as crucial pre-production settings, enabling teams to seamlessly integrate and validate their cloud services prior to deployment.

The Alloy Lab, in particular, empowers Oracle Partners to independently manage their customer relationships, leveraging the capabilities of OCI.

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will utilize your programming expertise to establish, configure, customize, validate, and automate all facets of the Alloy lab and its Disaster Recovery environments. Your strong foundation in Computer Science, combined with your coding prowess and problem-solving abilities, will be vital to our success.

The ideal candidate will have experience in:

  • Python, Java, and scripting languages
  • Oracle Database and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
  • Terraform, Docker, and Selenium

Within the OCI PINT Lab team, we also seek familiarity with:

  • System integration
  • Failover and Disaster Recovery
  • Scalability and Networks
  • Security and Load Balancing
  • Databases and Weblogic
  • Oracle Fusion Application and Oracle Integration Service

Our work is both challenging and fulfilling. On a typical day, you may find yourself coding new features, executing configurations, troubleshooting lab issues, and collaborating closely with both junior and senior engineers and managers to achieve shared objectives.

We expect you to be eager to learn about Oracle cloud technologies. Previous exposure to cloud infrastructure environments, software development frameworks, and Oracle cloud services, as well as proficiency in "Infrastructure as Code" tools like Terraform, will be advantageous.

Key attributes for success in this role include being customer-focused, a technical problem solver, a collaborative team player, and possessing a commitment to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, establish, configure, and validate all aspects of the Disaster Recovery environment for the Alloy lab in collaboration with your team.
  • Utilize exceptional communication skills to engage with a geographically diverse team across various technology domains.
  • Analyze existing product architecture, design, and implementation with a focus on enhancing scalability, performance, extensibility, and security.
  • Automate the setup of the Alloy DR infrastructure and manage failover processes.
  • Identify and resolve issues encountered during Alloy DR testing.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support the Alloy Lab as needed.
  • Operate independently with minimal guidance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in software application design, implementation, testing, release, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle Database, Oracle Fusion Application, and Oracle Integration Service is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Shell scripting is essential for our automation initiatives.
  • Experience with multi-tiered architectures and the ability to navigate various integration layers, including OS Linux, Databases, Load Balancers, Application Servers (especially Weblogic), Authentication Services, and Networks.
  • Experience in System Integration, Failover, and Disaster Recovery.
  • Familiarity with the Selenium framework, API-based integrations, and Microservices architectures.
  • Basic understanding of Networks and Security concepts, with a willingness to expand your knowledge.

Additional Skills

  • APEX, Java Scripting, Terraform, XML, JSON, REST, SNMP Protocol, etc.
